Crest 3D White Whitestrips with Light, 10 ct.

  • Crest’s most readily useful and fastest whitening technology at home
  • A light, disposable, water resistant, handheld unit that weakens stains
  • When made use of as instructed, Crest Whitestrips with Light whiten significantly much better than pieces alone
  • Uses the same enamel-safe whitening ingredient found in dental practitioner offices
  • Whitening outcomes final up to 36 months!

Crest 3D White’s brand-new, unique blue light system uses exactly the same type of light technology dentists make use of. The blue light weakens stains so that the whitening ingredient can perhaps work more effectively. The result is dramatically much better whitening in comparison to strips alone that continues around 3 years.

Amazing Results that Went Beyond my Expectations, November 28, 2016

While I had used Whitestrips in the past, it had been a while. Further, I heard about how great this product was from some of my co-workers, so thought I would give it a try & I am so happy I did!

Crest has come up with another amazing product, combining the power of their best whitestrips, with light. It works differently than most other products, where the light activates the whitestrip and takes the whitening power to a completely different level. It not only removes stains, but whitens through the enamel. And even though I had experienced some feeling of sensitivity with Whitestrips in the past, I had virtually none this time. From what I understand, sensitivity is caused by the temporary dehydration of the teeth, so I ended up swishing water in my mouth ahead of time (but to be clear, I have no idea if this helped, I just know I had no issues).

Since using the Crest Light, I have been getting lots of compliments on my smile & the whiteness of my teeth. What a great way to start the Christmas holiday & what a gift it will make for others!

I made it through the 10 day program, even though I really didn’t think I would.

This is actually fairly simple to use:
    1) you wear the strips on top and bottom teeth for an hour (I started doing this during my evening walks with my dog and then shifted to mornings for reasons I will explain later).
    2) At the end of the hour, you use the light for about 5 minutes on the top AND 5 minutes on the bottom.
    3) Remove strips and be amazed.

    My experience and advice:

I definitely saw a difference in the whiteness of my teeth over the course of the treatment, however, this treatment made my teeth SO sensitive that I personally didn’t think the effect was worth the sensitivity. For the 1st two days, I used them at night and woke up in the middle of the night because my teeth hurt. I wasn’t ready to give up yet, so I googled my issue and found that dentists recommend taking Ibuprofen before having your teeth whitened in a clinic environment. On day 3, I tried that, but I still woke up when the ibuprofen wore off. I then shifted to mornings (I’d take an ibuprofen, do the whitening treatment and then take another ibuprofen before bed). It took about 6 hours for me to feel the sensitivity (this was both when I remembered to take the ibuprofen before the treatment and when I forgot, so perhaps taking the ibuprofen is not necessary until you feel the sensitivity). From days 8-10, the sensitivity wasn’t as bad and was more manageable for me. To give an idea of the sensitivity, it made it difficult to eat or drink anything that wasn’t room temperature and even made walking outside painful (the cold air would hit my teeth and hurt).

There’s a little residue left behind each time, but I just used my toothbrush to lightly brush and remove the residue.

    Pros:
    – The light apparatus is actually really nice. It’s flexible and fits nicely. You press the two buttons on the side to turn it on and it stays on for the predetermined amount of time (about 5 minutes). It’s planned obsolescence to be used only for the 10 treatments, so there’s no need to hold onto it to use again.

    Cons:
    – Major tooth sensitivity for me.
    – I had a hard time getting the bottom strips to stick well.

A minor irritation, the packages are a bit finicky when opening. I pulled where it said “Pull here” and I inevitably got just a corner off and then had to try again with the other side, hoping I would get it just right the second time. Crest could fix that problem by making the wrappers slightly larger to not get caught on the plastic that the strips sit on.

I’ve never had tooth sensitivity before (aside from after dental procedures such as fillings) and this is a pricey treatment to just find out that it makes your teeth sensitive. I didn’t think the effect was enough for me to consider purchasing this in the future.
